Softskills includes lot of things: How to eat food (they will teach u even how 2 use spoons, fork, knife while eating blah blah), group activities, probably some might have foreign languago too like german, spanish etcetc... Also dressing etiquettes, spoken english counselling...

Technology is divided into two parts:

a. Basic Software tech: like software development cycles, different models, and in fourth year of your engineering if u have the subject Software Engineering, this will also be covered here.

b. Core Domain: They will divide randomly the batches as per technology. Some will get Mainframes, ,NET, Database, Java or Open systems like unix shell programming etc etc... I got Unix Shell and C++ and lucky enough to get the poject of same type ..
